toga relase & cs grad dinner
i claimed my toga earlier and got the tickets for the college recognition rites on saturday. when i got to the release.. lo and behold! a long queue of people awaited us. grr. lucky for us, they separated the venue for the ticket release and the toga release. haha. we were first in line for the ticket release when they changed venues.
after that, i went to yia hall to get our yearbook. and to think our high school batchbook is not yet finished (opo, opo, tinatapos ko na po!)
and while waiting for the cs grad dinner, i flitted to and from the department, the engg lobby (where the exhibit for the Undergraduate Research Competition finalists is located), and the tambayan. I got so sleepy that i took a nap at the tambayan, while rowell and the others were playing VS (i think.).
cha, gino, kd and i rode with some of the faculty members to balay kalinaw where the grad dinner was held. the choco chip cookies that sir tj baked were pretty tasty! and i thought he laced the cookies with poison. nyahaha.
when we got there, some of our batchmates were already there - mostly my blockmates. while waiting, we took pictures at the lobby (butopkors! what function would be complete without lots and lots of pictures!). and the reg people (cursor members, btw..) were releasing the cursor gallery cd to the graduating cursor members! whohooo! to the records committee (ish,renz,kmart,jesse,charm,jeross) and all the other people who helped and contributed to the cd, thank you thank you thank you!
anyway, the grad party kicked off with an icebreaker. geo & dino will be saying a particular scene, and all the pairs had to act it out. when they say freeze, we all have to stop and then they'll be picking a pair to "play" the scene again. we were all laughing... or was that because we were all hungry... hehehe..
they gave certificates to the thesis groups that were finalists in the URC, after which they also gave certificates to those graduating with honors. then came the induction into the up computer science alumni association.
... and i thought i'd never call gino "bos gino" again..
who would've thought that "bos" gino & i would be elected as batch representatives to the upcsaa? he got 19 votes, i got 16. .. tsk. and i thought cha would get the other slot for batch rep. nyahahaha. during the registration, gino was betting i'd win, and i bet that he'd win. haha. funny.
and the real treat? mam joyce sang 2 songs (1 whole song, plus 2 unfinished songs. :D) for our batch! yeay! and thanks for the iPod shuffle cover, mam joyce! =)
.. i hope they upload the pictures soon (ahem, calling gino, geo, marvin, dino, jeff and mam joyce!).
