1st week at work, and the wedding.
last week when i got home from my 1st day at work, my mom greeted me, "how's my working daughter?"
eek.
i can't believe that a week has already passed since i started. did i take a vacation before starting work? weeeelllll... if you count the semender and the 1 day in between the grad ball & my start date, then yes, i had 3 days vacation. at least i was lucky enough to have 3 days. some of us started even before graduation! =P
on my first day, there was a merienda get-together for all the new hires for the first quarter. so when we were introducing ourselves, they all laughed when i told them that i just started 6 hours ago (the merienda was at 4, i came in at 10). we met the managers and the other people up in the hierarchy. (ok, until paul martin & larry andrews.) and before that, i got my brand new, souped up laptop! (oooohhh yeah!) but i had several problems with my account. like what mike said to me on my 1st day "magiging best friend mo yung HP helpdesk!" after the merienda, i met up with mark and jenny, my manager and the team lead, respectively, and with the other members of the group.
since then, i've had trainings left and right, like sarah, mike, jan, jessie and gm. and btw, sarah & i are on the same floor, together with lou. they pass by my cubicle every time they need to go to the bathroom (since the women's cr is on our side. ehehehehe)
and on the 2nd day, the cursor people at hp had an online conference. weeeee! la lang. cursor@hp.
and i have a team mate who's a cursor alumni! (hi rose!) small world.
here are some of my doodles on my notebook:
... its cold. brrr.
... i want another cup of hot chocolate (yes, kaadik.)
... my body clock is whacked (during my onboarding, my shift's from 2-11pm.)
... i cant work properly because of the cold
... sinong rexhead, ha?
... i want an HP jacket. =P
... this side of the floor is buzzing with activity (at night). the other side's well... dead. (that's because we work in shifts, while most of the people on the other side work from 9-6. i think. =P)
for now, it's like school - you're learning things that you need for your job. after 2 weeks, it's on to the real McCoy.
========
my brother's getting married on sunday. gosh. i can't believe may 8 is 3 days away! waaaaa!
i'm going to miss him. really.
i remember the times when he used to fetch me from school when i was in elementary. he was still driving the yellow car, whose window won't close properly so that when it rains, ate cita and i get wet.
i also remember the times when we'd pass by national at q.ave on the way home and he'd let me buy a book (sweet valley kids/twins cost around 60-70+ bucks then).
.. the times that we'd buy sharksfin dunpling from kowloon.
... the times that the three of us would talk using my teddybears.
... the times that we'd make mama and ate laugh because of our jokes and other antics over the dinner table.
... the times that kuya bong, mama & i would catch the last full show of a movie at sm fairview.
... the times during christmas eve and new years eve when mama and kuya kdo had to go attend to the business (since it's a peak season) and she'd leave us a list of things to buy at the grocery. imagine the pain that kuya and i went through! christmas at new years eve un!
oh, and that choco torte. from sm fairview, to robinsons novaliches, to red ribbon commonwealth. tsktsktsktsk.
... the times that kuya would wait for me and fetch me at nec, even into the wee hours of the morning.
... the times that he taught us (not just me, but also some of my blockmates and orgmates) for our CS subjects, using ateneo resources (like the rooms, etc. hehehe. kulang na lang magklase na sha!)
... the times that both of my brothers would slide beside me on my bed and wake me up....
... the proud look on both of my brother's faces when i graduated from college (yes, they have invested A LOT in me, together with my mom)
i'm glad he's happy with ate raquel. =P and with the experience he got from taking care of me, kuya kedo and anding, he's going to be a great husband, and a great dad.
best wishes kuya bong and ate raquel!
