still stuck somewhere between college and work.

im still stuck in the void between college and work.

although i think most of us are. we've sat through our exams, finished our thesis, marched onstage, got our diploma and all, but still, we still miss the times that we can just schlump (i just looove that word. hehehe. julie andrews talaga o..) around, just worrying about whether we pass or fail. or whether we become members of that org that we've worked our butts off to get in to. or making sure that the MP you submitted passes your professor's scrunity and give you a decent grade. and of course, having fun.

although at work, you still feel like you're in college - uhhhhh.... well, plus the additional uhrmm.. pressures. you still get to make new friends and have fun, praying like hard that the database server doesn't fail the load test, trainings galore, working hard to be at par with your peers, etc.

im lucky that i have a schedule that allows me to swing by UP and catch up with the faculty and drop by the tambayan before i go to work (2-11pm). this way, i feel im not so much of an alumni. hehehe. =) im already planning to swing by tomorrow (wednesday) for CS4CS. and i must admit, cha & i already have plans for engg week *cougheithermagmorningshiftormagleavecough*. >:) nyahahaha. oipst cha, ung plano natin dati for engg week ha! =P

aaaahh dear old cursor. today's the deadline for filing of candidacy for the rexhead AND the miting de avance. i really hope someone runs this time. i'd hate to think that i didn't train someone to replace me. Hell, i even trained 7! =)

i was fixing stuff for turnover to the next rexhead such as the files, project documentations, forms, pictures, etc, etc, etc, and i found the envelope that kat gave me during our induction. it contained stuff that i needed for the recognition, old directory layouts, id pictures and several forms. and i found the letter that kat left for me in the envelope. i first read it after the semender that i got inducted (summer 04).

it read:
" .... alam ko na kaya mo ang job. ang rex ata ang pinakamadaling trabaho/committee. pero hindi ibig sabihin ng pinakamadali na wala ng trabahong gagawin after ng recognition at directory. sa term namin, naging parang support ako sa mga execom members na kinailangan ng tulong. sana ikaw din maging support ng execom members sa term ninyo. =) .... Pagbutihan mo sa pagiging Exec Sec, Rex Head =) ...."

that pretty much sums up everything that a rex head does. harvee, meli, kat, khen, cy, joy, gherette, soledad, rommel, laya, and the other rexheads did all of the above, and much more, im sure, for the org.

REX the best!

Happy birthday to my blockmate and fellow CURSORIAN, diana! she was the one i was with during our 1st day in college. and to think that it was her birthday that day! i mean, she didn't even tell me! :)) (yes, it has been always our little joke. =P)

  • Hmm, I wouldn't agree on the "pinakamadaling trabaho/committee" part. The Executive Secretary/Records Head’s work shouldn’t be taken too lightly. Sometimes it is tough and demanding. Sometimes you need to act as a manager, coach, historian, photographer, newscaster, peacekeeper, cheerleader, webmaster, defense minister and press secretary, while dealing with an ever increasing workload. He/she must be aware of the meetings, reports, transactions, files, memoranda, proposals and correspondence of the members and applicants (sometimes the alumni are involved). As for you Tina, I know you’ve contributed much, much more. :)

This is where I agree: REX the best! :D
