of hellos and goodbyes..
last friday was our last day in RS and our last day together as a team - although since Nov 1, we (SM) were already reporting to our new manager. It's a sad and senti day for all of us, since we've been together God knows when.
There was a coffee talk that evening (6-8pm), and we (Nathan, Josie & I) were planning a surprise for the DBAs - a video of sorts, showing all the pictures of the good times that we had together. We initially planned on including interviews with each member of the SM team (which DBA you'll miss the most, why, memorable experience, etc) but due to unexpected circumstances (AKA tickets!), we weren't able to do that. Sooooo we just did the "interview" part live during the coffee talk. The presentation with all the pictures? well..
Before I slept, I already copied the pictures that I'll be using for the presentation into one folder so that I wont go crazy finding the pictures in the other folders. And then, I went to the office last friday at around 11:30 so that I could finish (well, more like START doing it :P) the presentation. But, as circumstance would have it, i ended up having lunch with Dom, Fitz, Aldo, Arnie, Nathan and Tanya at Tang City. Tanya dubbed it as the "last lunch with the DBAs before we go to Ortigas". And like our usual Friday lunchouts, we ended up going back to the office at 2pm. eeeek! Thank God our application was behaving and there were no major/critical/performance issue tickets, so i was able to concentrate on creating the presentation.
We wanted the presentation to be a walk down memory lane, and tell the DBAs that even though we're not under the same manager, same team, heck, not even in the same building, they will always be a part of us. And of course, we'll still be working together. heehee. :P
So I started doing it at 2pm.. and come 4pm, I wasn't even halfway through! arggghhh... Sabi ko nga 28 kami, bat ba kasi pinilit na magkaroon ng "slide" per person eh.. hehehe. Tapos, pinilit pa talagang isingit ang "loveteam" section sa video eh no.. Come 6pm, they were already pressuring me to render the video already. teka laaaaaannngggggg!! may dadagdag pa ako! waiiit laaaaannnnggg! May 3 songs pa akong kulang! huwaaaaaa! I was FINALLY able to start rendering the video at around 6:15, and it finished just as the "interview" portion wrapped up.
*sings* We were strangers, starting out on a journey..
Each one of us had a particular DBA assigned and we would tell our memorable experience with them, etc, etc, and our message for them. Arvil was assigned to Fred, Josie to Aldo, Perey to Dom, Tanya to Fitz, Moe to Arnie, Nathan to Rockie, Letlet to Mike F, Jayjay to Kristine, Mike C to Joel, and I was assigned to Jenny. The team leads (Rose, Nikki, Yayie and Hem) gave their messages for Mark. .. I didn't think that I would cry during the interview part, but I did.. :) Jenny, if you're reading this, everything that i mentioned during the coffee talk was true. thanks for believing in me. :) And at least napaluha kita. hahaha. :D That's all I wanted. :P
Anyway, when we showed the video, there were "awwww" moments, and there were times when the whole room exploded with laughter (hrmmm.. ung ke arnie ata un. :P). yey for me! and after the coffee talk, most of them can't get Madonna's "I'll remember" out of their heads (this was the song i used in the final "senti/madrama" part) Mission accomplished. :)
*sings* and I'll remember, the strength that you gave me.. now that i'm standing on my own..
After our shift, we went to music 21! haha. kantahan blues.. Josie, Kristine, Jenny, Fred, Nathan, Rockie, Mike and me. :)

bye dba team... hindi na namin kayo makakalabit para magpareset ng password.. hehe. joke lng :) nagffile naman kaming ticket e!
at nde na rin namin kayo maasar personally.. iba pren talaga pag harapan ung asaran eh. pag via st lng, la gano effect eh. mweeheehee. :P
mamimiss ko kayo sobra, kasi yan pren ang unang team ko. :)
kristine, magkikita naman tayo sa SMPC, at magkafloor pa tayo!
...tapos ung isang WFH namin ni josie gagawin naming WFRS (work from RS). o diba! :P sa 34th tagaytay nlng siguro kami tatambay. hehe.
pero sabi ko nga sa video, its not an ending, its a new beginning! besides, lalakad pren naman tayo pag weekends eh. >:) hahaha.
*sings* I learned to let go.. I travel in stillness.. And I'll remember.. happiness
and speaking of new beginnings, we'll be in SMPC starting this Monday. Baka umingay yung floor dahil sa amin. mweeheehee >:) Dev team naman ang kapit bahay namin. hehehe :P
