Kathy's here!!

Yep, my best friend since elementary has come back from the States for a 3-week vacation! And as luck would have it, the day that they came here to Manila was also Kathy's birthday!

Kathy and her boyfriend Tim arrived in Manila last Aug 28. The whole gang brought something for lunch - i brought my ate cita's famous chicken & corn. (yummy!)

Kathy's the one in red in the picture. Tim is.. well, the only guy in the picture. hehehe. =P Jho and belle were not in the picture, since they went to jho's house to get her car so we can go to Gateway.

... and besides that fact that they've had a loooong flight, they still want to go to Gateway!

It's also a reunion of sorts for us who's still here in the philippines - i think the last time we saw each other was for Christmas! Oh, i stand corrected. We met a week or two before kathy came here - it's chesca's birthday ( the one in front of kathy). But before that, the last time we saw each other was Christmas. heeeheee. =) And it's a RARE occasion that Phin (the one in pink) joins the kada gimmicks/outings (wow, did i just say gimmick??! LOL)

When we met during Chesca's birthday,we dragged her afterwards someplace else, since we didnt get to talk about the plans when kathy gets here during the dinner - she was talking to UP friends (also my friends and orgmates, but hey, in chesca's book, im counted as one of the high school kada. =P ). Luckily, gwen, chesca, junnis and i won the vote. We wanted to go to a coffee shop (starbucks, seattles, whatever), and jho & sam wanted to go to a bar. haha! sweet victory. =D anyway, chesca, being the "president" of the kada, "sorta" presided over the discussion. jho, being the gimik planner, already outlined where kathy wanted to go. and me, wrote it all down. and i was project mgr for the welcome/bday party. ahahaha. asusual. =P

although it kinds sucks, since they also go out on weekdays, and since im on night shift (previously 2pm-11pm, now 4pm-1am) i cant join them. *sigh*. but i make it a point to go to all the *major* get-togethers. like the one saturday that we went to "the farm".

*sigh* the farm. it's a spa/getaway-from-suburbia-kinda-thing. ches, gwen & i were wondering where the 1,800 we paid for went - probably to the landscaping. Although i must admit, its a very peaceful, and uhrm, quiet, place. We (ches, gwen & i) just realized that this is not our thing. but since kathy wanted to go, we went. =). binawi na lang namin sa whole- day swimming. =P

You might be wondering why ches, gwen & i often have the same tastes. hrmmm.. i dunno. maybe because we all went to UP? or we all just like to kick back and relax (at home) hehehe. =P chesca's my katoto in anything and everything about food & college life. (okay, lumalabas ang katakawan ko.... =P). yes, the chesca im talking about is the one and same chesca who also studied in UP, took up CS, applied and became a CURSOR member a year ahead of me, and appealed & ran for the EXECOM during our last year in college. gwen on the other hand, took up tourism, founded a new org in AIT, and had Siquijor (my dad's province) as their thesis topic! and just look at this picture! this is one of the beaches in siquijor! =)

okay, okay, back to the farm.. we "toxified" ourselves before we went there by eating siomai and chips and coke in the van, "detoxified" ourselves by eating an organic lunch and having the spa treatment, and "re-toxified" ourselves by passing by jollibee and eating an early dinner (mushroom & cheese, chickenjoy, chicken torpedo, CHAMP... wel, you get the picture). =) Jho, belle, tim & kathy had their treatments at 11am, and we (gwen, ches & i) at 4:30 pm. and while waiting for them for lunch (and after an hour of swimming...), we got all hyper and took these wacky pictures:


heeeeeheee. =) 3 weeks have already come and well, almost gone. kathy's leaving on monday, sept 19. *sigh*. and i feel sad, since i didn't get to spend that much time with her here. oh well. at least she enjoyed her vacation here.
